Texas Hold'em

One of the most popular and widely known forms of poker is the “texas hold em” and the rules for this form of poker are remarkably simple. First, each player within the game is dealt two cards which are placed firmly face down, this is referred to as hole cards. Next is the so called flop, whereby three cards are placed face up on the table. Two more cards are then dealt to the table, known as the turn and the river respectively.
To recap, each player has a total of 2 cards in their current possession, and there are 5 so called community cards on the table. The community cards are so called because they are on offer and available for use by all players, and you win by forming the best possible poker hand by using any of the 7 cards on offer. Remember though, that whilst you only need 5 cards to form a hand (which gives you a slight advantage in terms of forming the most advantageous poker hand) the community cards are readily available for all players. Make sure you are fully comfortable with the various winning combinations, as this will defiantly affect your strategy when it comes to playing texas hold em. Given the limited number of cards on offer, and given that they are subject to the other players interference, the chances of getting a straight flush are exceptionally slim indeed, even a full house would be stretching it. The likes of highest card, pairs, and double pairs are most likely to net you results, they are easiest to achieve, especially with such limited options. Also bear in mind that in a game of texas hold em, if money is being wagered there is a round of betting after each round of cards are dealt, so there will be four rounds in total.
